Badge System

Many of your achievements on Gritti can be shown in the form of Badges. We currently have the following type of Badges:

  1. Distance-Based Badges: Badges for achievements based on the longest single run of the user, or the total amount of distance ran on Gritti

  2. Run-Based Badges: Badges which highlight other aspects of running, such as the number of calories burned, the time of the run, number of runs on Gritti, etc. This could also include location-based achievements.

  3. Account-Based Badges: Badgeswhich celebrate achievements surrounding the account itself, such as wallet creation, number of Sneakers purchased/sold, etc.

  4. GRI-Based Badges: Badges around the accumulation and spending of GRI, such as the amount of GRI spent, amount spent upgrading, amount invested into Sneakers, amount spent boosting, etc.

  5. Sneaker-Based Badges: Badges which highlight your Sneakers, such as having a certain number of Sneakers, having a high-level Sneaker, minting your first sneaker, having a Sneaker reach the minting cap, etc.

  6. Social-Based Badges: Badges which are for the amount of social engagement you are having on Gritti: the number of Stake Runs participated, runner co-op metrics, number of Glocal Hero events participated, etc.

  7. Special Badges: Through collaborations with corporations, brands, or marathons, these badges would indicate participation in special events.

These badges could have multiple uses, especially once they are converted to NFTs: they could be used as verification for marathons, or ways to filter for the runners you want in your Runner Group, or even as a way to gain special swag directly airdropped by brands. These badges form the beginning of a bigger, better system of celebrating achievements on-chain: our Metaphysical Credentialling System.
