Trial Run Mode (Under Development)
Trial Run Mode will be created as To make it easier for users to onboard and experience the full functionality of Gritti, we allow users to have a 21-day trial.
When users first join Gritti and prior to buying their first pair of Sneaker NFTs, they could acquire a pair of “Trial Sneaker”. During the 21 day trial period, these Trial Sneakers could be used to earn “Pending GRIs”. While Pending GRIs could be used to upgrade and repair Trial Sneakers, they cannot be used on actual Sneaker NFTs. Pending GRIs cannot be transferred, withdrawn, or sold.
After the 21 day trial, should the user purchase their first pair of NFTs from the marketplace, their Pending GRIs are converted to real GRIs and unlock full functionality.
Additional notes regarding the Trial Mode:
Pending GRI is meant to allow users to onboard and experience Gritti. The parameters and earning efficiency of Trial Sneakers will be far lower than real Sneakers.
There are conditions to converting Pending GRi to actual GRIs, and there will be a discount factor applied during the conversion. If the Pending GRIs earned during the Trial period is insufficient, conversion will not be possible. Actual conditions and discount factors will be released after testing.
Pending GRI could be converted once a real Sneaker NFT is purchased within the 21 day trial period. Actual conditions and conversion rate subject to internal testing.
Aside from the regular functionalities of Gritti, there will be “missions” to help users obtain additional Pending GRI while on boarding.
21 days was chosen as the length of time for the trial as it is the number of days required for habit formation.
Each user can only obtain one pair of Trial Sneakers, which cannot be sold or transferred. It is also automatically destroyed after the trial period.
The 21 Day Trial Play mode is the first of several functionalities we are adding to assist with user onboarding and making it easier for runners to join Gritti. We will also at a later date launch “Duplicated Sneakers” and “Runner Group Communal Sneakers”. No matter how we introduce these “free to play” sneakers, we know that there will be impacts on the tokenomics, which we believe will be balanced out by increased user acquisition and conversion. To minimize the effects, however, the development of these functions will happen in 2023, once we have a better understanding of the market dynamics on Gritti.
