Overview

Simply equip a Sneaker NFT either through your Inventory page or by clicking on the “+” button and press “run” button to begin running outdoors and earn GRIs!

In order to avoid over-exercise, we have implemented an “energy” mechanism that is linked to the number of Sneaker NFTs a Gritti account holds. Each Energy point equals 1KM of running distance that a user can earn tokens. Maximum Energy is replenished over a 4-day period at 6-hour intervals (fixed at UTC+0 00:00, 06:00, 12:00, 18:00), allowing users to either choose to run daily or 3-4 times a week, depending on their habits.

All movement types are classified as one of the following:

Normal: when users are walking/running properly with a strong GPS signal, which allows accurate recording of the users’ movement

Ghost Running: This will be shown if the app detects the user is not moving in a “human-like” manner, based on a variety of different data collected through GPS/gyroscope/accelerometer and the resulting calculations (cadence, pace, step length, etc). No GRI will be earned while Ghost Running, though users will also not lose Energy or Durability during this time. Similarly, Running Distance is not tabulated while Ghost Running.

Horse Trotting: This will be shown if Gritti detects a weak GPS/internet signal. No GRI will be earned while Horse Trotting, but users will not lose Energy nor Durability while Horse Trotting.

0. Under this condition it is calculated as zero based on the current status, although it is still recorded. 1. The estimation of Running Distance is based on the before-after GPS signal data. 2. The data of this segment exceeds the human limit.

Under multiple status simultaneously: - Status will be displayed randomly or simultaneously. - Counting continues only when all status are ✔

Before you begin running, always check your Energy level, as 0 Energy equates to 0 GRI earning.

GRI earning efficiencies are affected by various factors including the following

  1. Sneaker NFT attributes: each Sneaker NFT comes with 4 Dominant Attributes (Efficiency, Resilience, Luck and Ventilation) and 2 Hidden Attributes (Weight and Bounce). Details can be found in the Sneaker NFT attributes

  2. Sneaker NFT types: there are 5 types of Sneaker NFTs: Walker, Jogger, Trainer, Racer, and Trekker. Sneaker NFT types are determined by their respective Optimal Pace ranges; variations of Optimal Pace within each type of Sneaker NFT can also be wide. Details can be found in the Sneaker NFT types. Running outside of each Sneaker NFT’s Optimal Pace range will significantly reduce its earning efficiency

  3. Sneaker NFT rarity: the rarity of Sneaker NFTs are separated into 5 categories, N, R, SR, SSR, and UR, in ascending order. Details can be found in the Sneaker NFT rarity,

  4. Sneaker NFT levels: the higher a Sneaker NFT’s level, the higher the earning efficiency.

  5. Durability: Each Sneaker’s earning potential is further impacted by the durability level of the Sneaker. While there’s no penalty when durability is higher than 50, there is a 20% penalty when durability is between 20-50 and a 80% penalty when durability is under 20.

  6. Adapt attributes (under development): Earning efficiencies can be affected by interval speeds, location, weather, elevation, time of the day and even day of the week; allowing users to adjust for different circumstances to achieve optimal earning efficiency.

No tokens are earned once Energy is depleted. Users can either manually exit by briefly holding down the Stop button, or choose to carry on tracking their movements. Even while you are not earning GRI, running distance will continue being recorded and tabulated. Running distance records could be entered into the Leaderboard.
